In depth

Verdict

Aidan O'Brien has won the last three and LOPE Y FERNANDEZ looks the best of today's trio despite being beaten 10l behind Pinatubo in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Goodwood. He was earlier just 3l behind the winner in the Chesham at Ascot and that looks the best form on offer here. Fort Myers had no answer to Siskin here last month and looks to have plenty to do but Ger Lyons' Brunelle gained plenty of admirers at Leopardstown and Arranmore continues to make progress. Archie Watson's Guildsman disappointed at Goodwood after two fine efforts in Group 2's while Richard Fahey's Ventura Lightning has much more to do than when scoring at Thirsk and Ripon.
