Verdict
Foreign Affairs gets the vote in this Listed race over the likes of Big Moment and La Sylphide. Sir Mark Prescott places his horses really well at high level, and his six-year-old bids to land his fifth Listed contest, but amazingly his first on these shores. He did it the hard way at Leopardstown in August, hanging on well from Vinnie Roe who did the form no harm with a sterling run in the Melbourne Cup subsequently. A little rest since should ensure that he lines up a fresh horse, and he is taken to defy a five-pound penalty. Big Moment has been kept busy over hurdles as well as on the level but will probably find this trip too short against the selection. La Sylphide has the assistance of Kieren Fallon and ran a blinder against Sundrop at Newmarket last time. Top Seed meanwhile was pulled up as though something was amiss in the Group 3 race won by Orcadian at Newbury and comes from the in-form Mick Channon yard. Although this will not be a piece of cake for Foreign Affairs, he sets the standard and is the on to be on.
