In depth

Verdict

Night Sight, now seven pounds lower than when winning this race last year, can take the honours again, with his main dangers likely to be Palamedes and Kaparolo. Palamedes is lightly raced and open to further improvement, and Kaparolo, from the Amanda Perrett-trained stable, has form enough to be competitive from a mark of 78. Grand Lass comes here on the back of a close second to Major Attraction, for which she has been raised three pounds, while Mr Lear has been upped seven pounds for his Musselburgh success. Swynford Pleasure has only gone up two pounds for a recent Pontefract success and still has a right to be competitive. However, Night Sight can gain his fourth course win.
