One-time Derby entry Barney McAll, who seemed to take to cheekpieces last time, can land the opener, having most to fear from Jazz Messenger, Foodbroker Founder and Tiber. Pat Eddery has retained his partnership with the selection, which is another plus factor, and the son of Grand Lodge has the scope to keep on improving. Jazz Messenger will also keep on improving for racing, although he is trying a new trip. Foodbroker Founder flopped in the Lingfield Derby Trial but his trainer rates him quite highly. Tiber, coming here on the back of a good Sandown second, should also be considered while Sir Michael Stoute's Chief Yeoman needs to step up on his last run to give Her Majesty The Queen a Derby-day win.
