In depth

Verdict

Perfect Balance, Desert Hawk and Magic Sting are the three against the field here, and Desert Hawk is given the vote. Perfect Balance is an outsider to note here, having run well at Hamilton in a lady riders¿ event at Hamilton last time. Given the lack of worthwhile form in the race, Perfect Balance should go well. Desert Hawk has been running into form after three runs this season, and he holds a leading chance in this company following a decent third in a race at Windsor last time. He is respected, but the vote goes to Magic Sting. He contested a decent class handicap at Newcastle on his most recent start, and ran well, finishing fifth behind Dancer¿s Serenade. Magic Sting has won twice already this season but has found the fast ground a little quick of late. With the rain having fallen, Magic Sting can register his third win of the season.
