Not the strongest of lady amateur riders' handicap but a fiercely competitive affair nonetheless and a tentative vote goes to J R Stevenson while Estimation, Blue Trojan, Ellen Mooney and Del Mar Sunset are others to consider. The selection is admittedly on a longish losing sequence but is on a very fair mark, having landed a Newmarket handicap off a 5lb higher mark last season. The son of Lyphard returned to form when narrowly denied over this trip at Lingfield and also has the services of one of most experienced riders in the field so has plenty in his favour. Estimation bids for a hat-tick, having scored at Southwell and Newmarket last week, and is able to race off a 2lb lower mark so this progressive type has to be feared. Ellen Mooney has also been holding her form well and shouldn't be far away after a promising effort last time while recent Leicester winner Blue Trojan enters calculations under a 5lb penalty. Del Mar Sunset is a consistent type from an in-form yard and has place prospects once again but J R Stevenson looks the safest choice in a difficult finale.
