In depth

Verdict

Contact Dancer is a late maturing stayer who relishes testing conditions so is handed the TEAMtalk vote in a competitive contest. John Dunlop's charge was a highly impressive five-length winner at Pontefract last month and has been raised 10lb since but is unexposed and therefore capable of making progress. Tom Paddington has had his problems but has to be feared following a convincing victory at newbury on his belated return late last month and, with conditions to suit, should go well once again despite a 10lb hike. Ocean Tide showed a pleasing attitude when a narrow winner at Musselburgh in September and remains well treated so is another to consider as is Knavesmire Omen who comes here in top form having won three of his last five starts. Dancing Phantom is a course and distance winner who would have claims if back to his best but disappointed last time so Establishment, who ran with credit in the Cesarewitch, may pose a bigger danger.
