    Verdict

It would be a surprise if any of the older horses in this were good enough to thwart a couple of progressive three-year-olds. Sir Michael Stoute’s Davydenko has won three times over a mile this year but there are concerns about this step up in trip and, off level weights, GOOD BIRTHDAY (NAP) is preferred. Progressive as a juvenile, Andrew Balding’s colt has maintained a forward momentum this season after making a winning reappearance over track and trip and he showed a willing attitude to take a decent handicap at Beverley 12 days ago. Nicholas T has been a grand servant to connections and had excuses over a mile at Ascot last month so looks the pick of the remainder.
