Verdict
Advancing years have failed to diminish the enthusiasm of former Group 1 winner Limato, who won a Group 3 at Newmarket on his return to action. His chances would increase if the ground turned fast but he should still be competitive again. One Master couldn’t confirm Goodwood running at York with Safe Voyage but she has the beating of recent Deauville winner Breathtaking Look, who landed the Sceptre Stakes at this meeting 12 months ago, and is also a Group 1 winner. MOLATHAM won the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot and only weakened close home when fifth in the Prix Jean Prat at Deauville later. He goes well fresh and this is his trip so Roger Varian’s colt can get back to winning ways ahead of fellow three-year-old Wichita, who has disappointed since his third in the St James’s Palace Stakes. Shine So Bright was only fourth last year and this is a much classier renewal.
