Verdict

The Great Voltigeur is the best trial for this and bargain buy Pyledriver won that by more than three lengths when giving weight to rivals that included Berkshire Rocco and subsequent Goodwood winner Subjectivist. He wasn’t stopping at the end of that 1m4f so this trip shouldn’t be a problem. Hukum appeared to relish the step up in trip when landing the Group 3 Geoffrey Freer at Newbury and Galileo Chrome is defending an unbeaten record this season. Frankie, aiming for a seventh win in the final classic of the season, has picked up the ride on SANTIAGO (NAP) and his mount’s proven stamina could be decisive. The Authorized colt beat Berkshire Rocco in the Queen’s Vase before holding off stablemate Tiger Moth in the Irish Derby with Dawn Patrol a further five lengths away. He travelled strongly for a long way behind Stradivarius in the Goodwood Cup last time but this was always his prime target and he can give Aidan O’Brien a seventh success in the race.
