In depth

Verdict

Sheriff Hutton, Loom and Tickateal make the shortlist here with LOOM, in great heart at the moment, taken to complete a hat trick. After wins at Hexham and Uttoxeter, Sheriff Hutton was raised 20lbs by the handicapper, and not surprisingly found his weight a hindrance on his re-appearance where he nonetheless finished a decent third. That was his first run for five months and he will improve for that outing, but he may need to come down the handicap. Tickateal has been off the track since the summer, but a sound third at Aintree advertises his chance, having previously scored over fences. Unseated on his latest start, he is consistent and is well handicapped. Loom is another who has upset the handicapper, having gone up 20ilbs for two wins in September. They were gained with some authority and form has a solid look about it. Freshened up by that break, Loom can complete the hat trick.
