In depth

Verdict

Raining Horse, Earcomesannie and Ngong Hills are the trio to consider here, with RAINING HORSE having a progressive profile and taken to score. Earcomesannie won twice at Plumpton and despite carrying a seven pound penalty ran well to be runner-up last time. That was a sound effort but she may have to settle for a place again. Ngong Hills was attempting a hat trick when having to settle for third at Catterick last time. He made a bad blunder at the fifth from home that day, and but for that may well have won again. Racing off the same mark here, Ngong Hills should not be discounted. Raining Horse won successive races at Newcastle in March, and was a faller when holding every chance in a good Ayr contest after that. Sharpened up by a good third over hurdles, Raining Horse is racing off only a 4lb higher mark than when scoring at Newcastle, and he can win here.
