In depth

Verdict

Frontline Phantom is starting to come down the weights again and has won twice over this C&D. He also got the better of Hydrant at Nottingham in May, though the latter is 4lb better off here. VEILED APPLAUSE is well handicapped on his best form and also weighted to reverse running in the spring with Frontline Phantom. He can come on top today. Sirgarfieldsobers continues to disappoint and Colinca's Lad needs to overcome a 6lb rise in the weights if he is to complete his hat-trick. Hail Bold Chief would have made short work of these off this mark last year but has hardly picked his feet up in four outings this term and best watched until showing signs of a revival.
