      Verdict

      Santafiora and Funky Footsteps made winning debuts in soft ground while Miss Sugars scored on her introduction at Thirsk but found one too good under a penalty at Kempton. APPOINTED also made a successful start when scoring at Ripon in May. The re-opposing runner-up Melaniemillie has subsequently won at York and Tim Easterby’s filly gets the nod to confirm running on better terms in a tight handicap. Clef came good in a maiden race at Beverley last time and the second has since boosted that form by winning on the all-weather.
