Verdict

RANGEFINDER can come out on top at the main expense of Summer Winds and Plaisterer. The selection has shown some smart form in Italy and the fast ground and longer trip may have been against him when he was a little disappointing at Newmarket last time. He had previously run well at Ripon over today's distance and he could be worth another chance today. Summer Winds has won two of his last three starts, including most recently when he beat Manshoor at Newmarket. The ground will not be a problem for him today but he did get the run of the race last time and there is a question mark over his ability to follow up here. Plaisterer is a nice filly and she has gone well in each of her last two races. She is rising in the weights but she is progressive and there may be more to come from her. Best Prospect has got course and distance winning form and he wasn't beaten all that far at Newcastle last time so he has place prospects. Shaloo Diamond has a penalty for his win last time out and he could be vulnerable today, leaving Rangefinder as the one to beat.
