In depth

Verdict

As is often the case in these races there is little for backers to go on but trainer Nicky Henderson has a good record in bumpers and it will come as no surprise if La Dame Brune is good enough to make a winning debut and she is preferred to Dr Flight and Sundarbob. The last mentioned also hails from a yard with a decent record in bumpers and Paul Webber's son of Bob Back has to be respected. A market move for Alan Swinbank's Dand Nee would be of interest, while the Ian Williams-trained Ember Dancer showed promise first time out at Huntingdon and obviously has the benefit of experience. Sybarite Chief, a son of Sinndar trained by Richard Fahey, and Tom Tate's Rudimentary gelding Bleak House are others to consider first time up although a more obvious threat may come from Hugh Morrison's Dr Flight, who has a decent pedigree and should be suited by the fast ground. La Dame Brune represents top connections though and she gets the vote.
