        Verdict

        The David Nicholls-trained Tax Free goes on any ground and has to be respected but, along with Mark Johnston's Lovelace, he may struggle under his penalties and preference is for Advanced. The selection will relish the underfoot conditions, is well treated on official BHA ratings and Kevin Ryan's five-year-old has solid claims. Prime Defender would probably want a faster surface, while Wi Dud, a stable companion of the selection has shown his winning form over the minimum trip. Linda Perratt's Appalachian Trail has won over six furlongs but is probably better over further, while Richard Fahey's Hinton Admiral probably needs to improve to trouble the judge but is less exposed than most of his rivals. Hoh Hoh Hoh is on a long losing sequence and has had little respite from the handicapper and a safer option looks to be Advanced.
