SAYIF has had plenty of chances and remains a maiden after five starts but Peter Chapple-Hyam's colt is hard to oppose following his fine second in the Middle Park last time so gets the verdict dropped into this listed race, with the main dangers rated as Dark Mischief and Favourite Girl. The last mentioned was well held in a Group 3 contest two starts ago but that was on heavy ground and Tim Easterby's filly ran much better when chasing home Total Gallery in the Listed Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar last time. Ed McMahon's Noble Storm has won his last two starts in nurseries but needs to improve again to trouble the selection, while James Bethell's Hartley is less exposed than most of these after just two starts but this represents a big step up in class. Brian Meehan's Absent Pleasure and Bryan Smart's Able Master both come from stables in good form at present and have to be respected but more solid claims are held by Dark Mischief. Henry Candy's filly was good value for her debut success at Windsor in June and she could be the main threat to Sayif, who is hard to oppose.
