Secret Victory has won a couple of times over a mile on the all-weather since beaten over a longer trip. Novice winner Taqareer struggled under a penalty last time and makes his handicap debut having been gelded since last in action. He’s preferred to Thibaan, who sports the same colours, while several ran well in a higher grade last time. That list includes the returning pair Throne Hall and Spirit Dancer but SARVAN was beaten less than a length in a decent handicap at Wolverhampton last month and may have the edge on his second start after wind surgery. Fox Power and Baryshnikov could prove best of the rest.
