In depth
Verdict
Golden Odyssey had some decent form in bumpers, winning three times from four starts, before making a smooth transition to hurdling when landing a novices' hurdle at Market Rasen last month and should be too good for her main rivals Farne Isle and Karathaena. The last mentioned held on gamely when winning at Market Rasen earlier this month but seemed to struggle under her penalty last time and may do so again today. Sue Smith's Bally's Bak has been running consistently well of late and has to be respected but is again likely to find at least one too good, while Farne Isle has more to do than when landing a novices' handicap at Leicester last time. Peter Niven's Simply Mystic has shown promise in bumpers and again on her hurdling debut at Huntingdon last month and is another to consider along with Fille Detente from the in-form stable of Pam Sly. Golden Odyssey is potentially different class to these though and is hard to oppose.
