Verdict

David O'Meara won this with a newcomer last season but new inmate HAIL THE HERO ran three times last year. The latter found only subsequent Group 1 winner Vert De Grece too good when runner-up for Ballydoyle at Leopardstown in August and gets the nod on that form ahead of Fullon Clarets. Richard Fahey's charge went close at Ayr in September and Sirdaab will likely improve on last year's debut effort at Goodwood on his return. Dark Red and Occult are newcomers to note and the filly Just Ching is out of a prolific mare and can count a Group 3 winner among her relatives. Mick Easterby won this with the smart Aetna in 2013 so Leave It To Arno is another to keep an eye on.
