Verdict

Lagan Canal makes his hurdling bow after a narrow victory in a bumper at Perth where he looked to have a bit in hand. However, he faces a stiff task against decent rivals who include BOB LE BEAU, rated 100 on the Flat and better for the experience of his recent debut effort over timber on this track. He's handed the vote though Old Pride finished in front of him that day and also has scope for further progress. Winning point-to-pointer Never Complain has shown some promise in two starts over timber though may need further but Railway Tommy should do well now turning his attention to jumping.
