In depth

Verdict

Dandyman Port, who had twice refused to race in April, showed his better nature with a fine run at Haydock on Saturday where he would have been closer but for his rider losing his whip. True Blue Moon also ran on Saturday in a premier handicap at the Curragh but had done much better on his previous start when dead-heating over this trip at Bellewstown. Aleef has been running well from this mark all season and looks certain to get into contention as Ken Condon's charge appears to find 6f testing his stamina, as it did at Fairyhouse last time, with his two victories this campaign have been over this trip. He had Aloysius Lilius just over a length in second when scoring at Naas and the latter is no better off. But ENOUGH SAID (NAP) was having his first start for new connections when beating subsequent winner Sunset Nova in a Bellewstown maiden and a 3lb rise now looks lenient, especially with Andrew Slattery's claim to help.
