In depth

Verdict

THE BANDIT, who cost €130,000 and whose dam is from the family of champion hurdlers Granville Again and Morley Street, was expected to make a winning start at Thurles in February but never looked likely to get involved. This is a poor contest and he can gain compensation. Ruleout has only shown moderate form but his yard has struck form and this won't take much winning. Cool Rain wasn't beaten far at Limerick and looks best of Stuart Crawford's pair while Devil's Cut, whose dam is from a smart family in France, won't need to be special to make his presence felt.
