      Verdict

      AMAZONIAN DREAM was relatively unfancied on his debut at Newbury but ran a cracking race to only go down by half-a-length. Rod Millman has sent him up from Devon for this and he can make the most of the 7lb he receives from penalised course and distance winner Meng Tian, who is far from certain to confirm running with Adeb. Ripon third Flaming Rib may need to take a big step forward and Pocket The Profit and Sharp Riposte face no easy task making their debuts.
