Verdict
BEACON EDGE will be expected to go on to much better things this winter. A winning bumper and placed in Grade 1 company, he was an easy winner on his debut over hurdles at Punchestown before beaten in photo-finishes in Grade 2 and Listed company at Naas in the spring. He's rated 11lb higher than Curlew Hill and only has to concede 3lb though the latter has a race-fitness advantage having easily landed a Kilbeggan maiden before chasing home the useful Dewcup at Punchestown last week. The remainder have mountains to climb on official ratings with Rocky Court, who has been running quite well in handicaps, possibly the pick.
