Verdict

Unless there is something useful amongst the newcomers, WOULD BE KING should have no problems losing his maiden tag. Third in a Group 3 at Leopardstown a year ago, he didn't reappear until May when runner-up in a Listed contest at Naas before well beaten in the 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh. Indianapolis looks the only logical threat as he looked very green when last of five over 1m2f here in April and has been given time to mature. Michael Halford's newcomer Cloak Of Darkness cost 62,000gns and his pedigree suggests he'll be ideally suited by this trip. The remainder make little appeal.
