The combination of Tony Martin and Johnny Murtagh could see some improvement in the recent form of Avanti Albert, who was in superb form here at the backend of last year and will have been brought to the boil for this excellent prize. Lee Smyth has acquired the lightly-raced and progressive Lord Chancellor from Mark Johnston and a long absence shouldn't be a problem. Luttrell Lady has been in fine shape on turf this summer but has shot up the weights as a consequence and is 23lbs higher than when gaining her only success on the track last October. Reiteration began the campaign in brilliant form and holds Buy Back Bob on their 1-2 at Gowran in May. He ran so poorly in the Group 2 Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial at Leopardstown in May that it could not have been his true running and Jim Bolger will have him right for this. DESIGNATED DECOY had been tuned up for Galway and started favourite in the race won by Separate Ways from Luttrell Lady though the original disqualification of the winner was later rescinded. It was a messy affair and Dermot Weld's charge suffered more than most so may be able to gain compensation.
