Verdict
A race that at first glance looks very competitive but in fairness there might only be a handful that can be given a serious chance. Principal amongst the fancied runners would be Montecassino Abbey who has run well all starts this term and was cantering at the distance at Goodwood last time before running out of petrol. The return to seven furlongs should be ideal for Montecassino Abbey and he looks sure to run well. Material Witness ran a sound race at Newmarket at the weekend and would have claims if reproducing that effort, and it's interesting that Mark Johnston has switched Flur Na H Alba back to seven furlongs, a trip at which he's run well in the past. Ashlinn is another that can't be ruled out having hinted at a return to form last time whilst Bon Ami has apparently forgotten how to win but can't be completely dismissed.
