Verdict

The new kid on the block, CRIME WRITER, may have the answer to this teaser which sees plenty of familiar faces go head to head. Compton's Eleven is well treated and ran well last time but didn't appear too keen to put his head in front so is difficult to recommend. Napoletano is capable of going close but could be in better form whilst Seneschal appears to have paid the price for a decent spell of form. It would be marvellous to see old favourite Idle Power put his head in front again and there was enough promise in his last outing to suggest that there's life in the old dog yet. Shamrock Lady will need to be at the top of her game to make a winning return whilst a new combination of appliances needs to work the oracle for Stanley Goodspeed. Support Fund ran a solid race at Warwick, hails from a yard going well and has winning form on a downhill track so she rates highly but preference is for the unexposed colt two years her junior. He finished tailed off in a more competitive race than this one on his handicap bow at Doncaster with no obvious excuses but his three previous outings were all solid and it may be worth giving him the benefit of the doubt as Crime Writer could solve this puzzle.
