Verdict
RARE TERN came up against a plot when second at Lingfield and given the way she pulled clear of the third a 4lb rise doesn't appear harsh. Sir Mark Prescott's filly relished stepping up to a mile that day and she ran well on ground faster than ideal when last racing on turf, so everything looks in place for a big run. Dream On Buddy should prefer this test having raced on extremes of going the last twice but a bigger threat may be Suffolk Punch, who ran well enough despite hanging up the camber here a week ago. This represents a step down in grade while and he broke his maiden tag at the track so clearly enjoys the test. Excellent Day remains in fine fettle and should continue to acquit herself well if ready after her race at Kempton three days ago while Mejd and Ostentation aren't ruled out on their best.
