      Verdict

      BLAZING KNIGHT was clearly fancied at Windsor on his latest start and Ralph Beckett's colt can make amends here. The son of Red Clubs was tried under enterprising tactics and though he failed to hang on to a lead over that relatively flat six furlongs; if he takes to Epsom, he sets a stiff standard for the rest. Richard Hannon won this race last year and is represented by Black Monk. The Dark Angel colt has had a brief absence since we last saw him at Salisbury and he can confirm form with Pearl Bounty as the winner and second in that contest have gone on to win since. Clement looked clueless in the early stages of his debut though he is likely to have learned plenty for the experience and Blessington is one to note with the future in mind.
