Verdict
Irish Legend looked held before being brought down at Stratford last month and looks best watched on his first start in a handicap over fences off his current mark in a race where it may be worth siding with GILSLAND, who gets the verdict ahead of American World. Brendan Powell's gelding had to work hard to win at Plumpton last time, his second success in his last three starts, and has every chance of winning again but a 10lb rise for that victory makes this tougher. Jonjo O'Neill's Stradbrook got no further than the first fence on his reappearance and a bigger threat seems likely to come from Bertie May. Kevin Bishop's gelding made a pleasing return when a close fourth behind Gentle Ranger here earlier this month and he has to be considered, although does have to race from 2lbs out of the weights proper. Vic Dartnell's Richard's Sundance was pulled up before four out here on his reappearance and preference is for Gilsland. Don McCain's gelding is less exposed than his rivals after just five starts but he has shown improved form over hurdles and he may be worth chancing on his chasing debut on ground that suits.
