In depth

Verdict

The Villager looks the pick of the weights and if putting in a clear round looks the obvious form chance over this course and distance. He has winning form over fences and looked a decent prospect over hurdles. He also has the benefit of his regular pilot Tom Scudamore. Toby Balding was very bullish about the performance of his Lattimer's Place last time out when he finished tailed off. However the trainer was very positive about that performance and expects him to improve. Bonus Bridge has had his problems and has not won for a while but he could well be suited by this step up in trip and can be given a chance with Richard Johnson aboard. Another Moose has always been held in high regard by connections and had progressive hurdle form but unless there is significant market support he is best watched here. First Flight is another returning after a long absence but he has quality and if translating his hurdle form to fences he holds every chance on this ground.
