Verdict

Martin Pipe sets a poser by saddling both L'Etang Bleu and Royal Prodigy, but with the champion electing to ride the former, he could well prove the pick of the pair, however, the one they all have to beat is the maiden Simoski. He comes into this in fair form having been placed in a couple of similar contests recently and with no doubts about him handling the fast ground, he looks to have been found the ideal opening. Having been chasing recently, without cutting much ice, L'Etang Bleu will appreciate the return to this grade. A winner off a 10lbs lower mark back in April, his chance is there for all to see, but he has had plenty of chances off far lower marks than this and he is worth taking on, giving weight away all round. Stablemate Royal Prodigy is useful enough at this level, but he has done most of his racing over timber around sharper tracks than this and there must be a doubt about him lasting home. Aunt Hilda comes from a stable in-form and has place claims, but Simoski is taken to make the most of the weight he receives off L'Etang Bleu.
