Verdict

With three course winners in the field this looks quite a tight contest to end with. Artemesia, Sovereign, and Cooling Off, 2nd, 4th, and 6th respectively in this event last year, along with Sister Superior and Ask Me What look the one's to concentrate on with preference for Sovereign, who is taken to reverse recent course form with Artemesia. A never nearer fourth in this race last year, she can run off a 1lb lower mark this time and as she was given a break during the winter, she comes into this a fresh horse. Atemesia comes into this at the top of her form having won here last month, with the selection filling the runner-up spot. Cooling Off is difficult to win with, while Sister Superior has gone over two years without getting her head in front and even though she is sliding down the handicap, she may have to come down further before she regains the winning habit. Ask Me What is lightly raced and open to improvement, but whether she will find this ground on the quick side for her, we shall have to wait and see.
