Verdict
Deferlant, who had been in cracking form over fences until taking a fall at Perth, returns from a lay off. He looks to have enough on his plate off this mark. Marigliano has gone nearly two years since last getting his head in front and as a consequence has slipped to a handy mark. He still retains ability, as he showed when a close third to Out Of The Shadows at Haydock last month. Off a 5lb lower mark here, he must go close. However, the TEAMtalk selection is Diamonds Will Do, who will be well suited by this sharp track. He came up against the improving Time And Tide at Bangor and although the Handicapper has seen fit to raise him a couple of pounds for that effort, he could still prove to be well treated.
