Verdict
This is a fascinating juvenile race and we will take a chance on the newcomer Crociera, with Siegfried's Night and Goblin put forward as the main rivals. The selection was no world beater on the flat, but showed enough to gain an official rating of 68. He hails from the shrewd Mark Tompkins yard and if he attracts interest in the ring take note. Goblin was rated higher than the selection on the flat, in fact he finished a close up seventh on the all-weather at Lingfield off a mark of 74. He made a promising hurdling debut at Huntingdon last month and should improve for that experience. This isn't a very strong event so Siegfried Night, a winner of a modest event at Cartmel can also go well under a penalty, but Crociera may be revitalised by this change of career and is given a tentative vote
