In depth
Verdict
The lightly weighted Peacemaker comes here in good form and although 4lbs higher than when scoring at Towcester recently, he is still well treated on his win here two years ago where he won off a 2lbs higher mark than today's, and while he must go well preference is for Somerset raider Tuxedo Junction, who hasn't been seen since scoring on his chasing debut at Worcester 16 months ago. Philip Hobbs has his team in fine form having scored with eight of his last ten runners, so lack of a recent outing isn't a concern. A bigger worry is the lack of experience against some battle hardened, but exposed chasers. However, the selection is open to plenty of improvement and is taken to make a winning return to action. Richie's Delight has only finished out of the frame here once in four outings and will appreciate the return to the larger obstacles where he can run off a 16lbs lower mark than over timber. Tirley Storm is capable of a bold show off his light weight, but Tuxedo Junction could well prove a class above his rivals and is taken to retain his unbeaten record over fences.
