Verdict
A small field here for this handicap which can be taken by Wend's Day. The seven-year-old has been rated as high as 113 in the past and showed that he retains ability when, after a couple of runs on the flat, he came out and won a claimer at Plumpton on Monday. On similar ground and off a mark of 95 he can go in again here. Dunraven won a very ordinary seller at Southwell last time and gets in here with bottom weight. With his confidence boosted he could go well, though it is difficult to see him being good enough to win again. Xaipete is one who possesses plenty of ability and despite being on the slide these days he would have had these for breakfast in his heyday and could arguably still be well handicapped. However he seems to have forgotten how to win and is overlooked here, though should be good enough for a place. Chem's Truce was a disappointing favourite last time, but comes here fresh after a decent break and is probably best watched, while Wellfranko could also claim a place for Ferdy Murphy's yard.
