In depth

Verdict

CALUSA CALDERA can take the measure of Beautiful Vision and Riddleofthesands. The gelding has shown glimmers of ability over hurdles and with Phillip Hobbs sending out a winner earlier in the week, we are hopeful that he will be far enough forward to do himself justice. Beautiful Vision has thrived since joining current connections. This will be no easy task to defy penalties against smart rivals but he has done little wrong this term. Riddleofthesands was disappointing at Perth when backed into favouritism though may conceivably have needed that first run back. Bobby Bullock is lightly raced though may need softer ground. House Of Bourbon has been seen out over hurdles of late. He can make the odd blunder over fences so is regrettably opposed. Mister Watzisname was probably held when taking a fall at Stratford though had shown promise over hurdles in Ireland. Calusa Caldera is the pick.
