In depth

Verdict

A watch the market race where ISLAND OSCAR makes most appeal without reference to it with Knar Mardy and A Nun With A Gun others to make our shortlist. The Irish raider has had plenty of experience in relation to many of his rivals, and having caught the eye at Newton Abbot under similar conditions, we are confident that he can gain compensation. Knar Mardy is one of the first runners out of Nicky Henderson's yard post suspension. She has disappointed the favourite backers on two occasions though the first of those was in a particularly hot Cheltenham affair. A Nun With A Gun is a little older but is also in receipt of the mares allowance. She ran well at this track in August and as she is from an unfashionable yard, she could trade at a decent price. Beta Blocker and Cresswell Pride are out of distinct flat stallions so are worthy of note. Honourable Dreamer is out of a dam who won at 2m4f over hurdles. Expect him to be fairly warm in the betting as an inmate of the Jonjo O'Neill outfit. Lady Wyndham is related to a number of winning bumper performers but probably had her best chance to land one at Newton Abbot and failed to do so. Island Oscar is the selection.
