The betting suggested ADVANCED VIRGO (NAP) would improve stepping up to 1m2f on his handicap debut and he duly obliged in an apprentices’ race at Windsor last week. He escapes a penalty today and there should be plenty more to come from him. Polkadot Princess was still beaten six lengths when runner-up at Bath but Miniature Daffodil finished a creditable third behind a couple of higher rated horses in a claiming race last time. Avocadeau has been thereabouts at Bath recently without looking like winning but still makes most appeal of the remainder.
