Verdict

Few can be said to arrive in the best of form but STATE THE OBVIOUS looked in need of the run when unplaced on his recent chasing debut. He has plenty of time on his side to get to grips with his new discipline though as a 6-y-o and looks fairly weighted here. The first-time application of cheekpieces may aid his cause too and he has a definite claim if able to repeat his consistent hurdling form now tackling fences. Gone Platinum is only up 3lb for his recent success here and should be in the mix for a yard very much at their best with chasers. Great Tempo has a chance too but hasn't won for a while and Minella Gathering and On Alberts Head make greater appeal towards the foot of the weights.
