Verdict
Few can boast solid recent form in an ordinary sprint handicap but Scarlet Secret is an obvious exception and is preferred ahead of Let's Party with Patandon Girl and My Girl Pearl others of note. Charlie Cyzer's filly had been knocking on the door this season before gaining a richly deserved victory when a comfortable winner at Wolverhampton last time and may prove capable of defying a 7lb penalty against some moderate rivals. Let's Party was readily left behind when sixth on her recent comeback at Salisbury but came up against a smart performer on that occasion and she is entitled to improve so could go close despite her welter burden. Patandon Girl unseated her jockey when stumbling coming out of the stalls at Bath last time but had previously shown some ability in maidens at Newmarket and Leicester to suggest she could pose a threat off a fair mark on her handicap debut. My Girl Pearl is exposed as only moderate and ran as though something was amiss last time but has place claims on previous efforts so shouldn't be dismissed out of hand.
