Verdict
A low-grade event with some moderate animals in opposition and Emperor Star is only a tentative choice with Poppyline and Tuscan Treaty heading the dangers. The Terry Mills-trained Emperor Star struggled in decent maiden company behind such classy performers as Lundy's Lane and Shield but has shown some promise in handicap company since and looks capable of going close in a race of this nature. The three-year-old put up her best effort to date when a close second over this trip at Wolverhampton late last month having attempted to make all and only collared in the closing stages. The daughter of Emperor Jones races off the same mark and should give another good account if similar forcing tactics are employed once again under her useful apprentice. Poppyline remains a maiden but made a pleasing return when second in slightly better company at Leicester and looks a big threat if able to reproduce the form over this furlong shorter trip. Tuscan Treaty comes here in good form but is 8lb higher compared to her selling handicap success over course and distance last month and could prove vulnerable.
