In depth

Verdict

Wizard Looking has run well in two recent starts on artificial surfaces at Wolverhampton and Southwell but he is not as good on turf so looks best left out of calculations and preference is for Papradon, who gets the vote over Chapter. The last mentioned is only 3lbs higher than when successful at Brighton last month and he has to be respected but that was a weak race and he may struggle to follow up. Mid Valley has been running consistently well in recent starts on the Fibresand but looks too high for his return to turf, while Barbirolli has slipped to a decent mark but has given little sign of encouragement in recent starts. Colton comes here fit form hurdling and has slipped to a decent mark but is hard to back with confidence on recent hurdles form and preference is for Papradon. Jim Best's gelding showed a consistent level of form last term and he is taken to make a winning return.
