In depth
Verdict
Blasket Sound can score again over the likes of Ludere, Mister Pickwick, and Magical Day. Blasket Sound, a winner eight times in all, has his ground here with conditions sure to be testing, and is taken to add to his comfortable Boxing Day success over Dante Citizen at Huntingdon. He has beaten better opposition than this in the past and there is no reason why he should not take the beating again, despite the slight drop back in trip today. Ludere likes the ground as well and will be plugging on at the one pace. In contrast, Mister Pickwick may struggle in the going, although he does boast more recent winning form than most. Magical Day was given a strong ride by Tony McCoy when successful at Hereford in December and now has to give weight to all the others. He might be there or thereabouts again though, but we have no hesitation in selecting Blasket Sound in the seller.
