Verdict

There was talk of Young Dude going to the bumper at Punchestown after his debut success, so it will be surprising if he is not good enough to defy his penalty in this company. Lannigans Rock and Lunch Was My Idea are a couple of obvious alternatives, while Crafty Lady makes some appeal on pedigree as one to watch out of the newcomers. Lannigans Rock ran well in a bumper on his only start in Ireland before going very close on his first start for Richard Rowe. He looks a sure-fire improver and represents the biggest danger to the selection. Lunch Was My Idea has shaped with promise but looks vulnerable to a more progressive type. Especially one with the scope held by Young Dude, who routed a field of potentially useful performers at Worcester and is expected to be all the wiser for the experience.
