Verdict

Fit from the flat, Western Chief has certainly been given a chance by the Handicapper. It is a while since he showed anything over fences, but he has been dropped to a mark only 1lb higher than his best winning mark. Mister Pickwick has shown next to nothing in his four races to date over fences and there should be little between Santella Boy and Lazim Afooz on their running at Newton Abbot.
